Energy and Water Ombudsman Queensland assists energy customers across Queensland and water customers in south east Queensland on a daily basis. We provide a completely free and independent dispute resolution service for energy and water customers who are unable to resolve a problem with their electricity, gas or water supplier. The Energy and Water Ombudsman's role is statutory under the Energy and Water Ombudsman Act 2006, meaning it is independent from industry and government direction.

- Salary/remuneration
Employees are appointed to a particular level depending on their qualifications and experience. More information about salaries and allowances can be found at Public Sector Industrial and Employee Relations.
- Hours of duty - flexible working hours
A standard working day is 7¼ hours. However, sometimes you might have to work outside these core business hours. If you do, we have flexible working arrangements, including time off in lieu.
- Recreation leave
You will receive 20 days (7¼ hours per day) paid recreation leave per year, plus 17.5% loading on recreational leave.
- Sick leave
You will be eligible for 10 sick days (7¼ hours per day) leave per year on full pay.
- Long service leave
You will accumulate long service leave at the rate of 1.3 weeks per year of service. Normally you will be eligible for long service leave after 10 years of continuous service. Long service leave may also be taken on half pay.

- Study and Research Assistance Scheme (SARAS)
