As of 11 February 2010, the Australian Government began a full program of electrical safety inspections on homes insulated with foil products under the Home Insulation Program between 3 February 2009 and 9 February 2010.
The inspections are carried out by a licensed electrical contractor at no cost to the householder. If rectification work needs to be undertaken as a direct result of an installation under the program there will be no cost to the householder.
