Freedom of Information

The Freedom of Information Act 1992 requires government agencies to publish a Statement of Affairs annually. The Statement describes:

the agency's structure and functions
how these functions affect members of the community
how members of the community may participate in the agency's policy development and the exercise of its functions
the kinds of documents the agency holds
literature available from the agency by way of subscription services or free mailing lists
all boards, councils, committees and other bodies that are part of, or have been established for the purpose of advising the agency
arrangements for individuals to gain access to the agency's documents concerning their personal affairs
freedom of information contact details
reading room facilities.

EOQ is required to comply with the Queensland Government's 11 Information Privacy Principles, which regulate, among other things, the collection, storage, accuracy, use and disclosure of personal information. The 11 Information Privacy Principles are contained in Information Standard No. 42.

If your enquiry or complaint is outside of EOQ's jurisdiction, we will forward your details to the agency that can assist. We will endeavour to inform you that this has occurred.

We can only assist the energy account holder, unless permission, either written or verbal, has been given to act on someone else's behalf.
