Security deposits

In some circumstances energy suppliers require new customers to pay a security deposit (eg. if you have outstanding debts). Your supplier will usually refund your security deposit once you have established a satisfactory payment history. Security deposits held for domestic consumers must be repaid if all bills are paid on time for a certain period of time or if you close your account with no outstanding debt. Contact your energy supplier for more information.

These terms and conditions do not automatically apply to market contracts. Check your contract's terms and conditions.
